We are seeking a motivated and experienced Rehabilitation Staff Specialist to work for the Department of Health in the region. Both sites provide acute and sub-acute services. The two hospitals both have busy emergency and general medical departments. Both Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics are primarily located at the RH with outpatient services at both sites. A busy general orthopaedic and general surgical service is based at RH with the CH providing predominately day surgery cases. The anaesthetics services are primarily located at the RH with services at both sites. There are extensive outpatient services for a range of sub-specialty services. The rehabilitation service is located in a purpose-built ward at the CH and is two years young. The Rehabilitation Staff Specialist has solid junior doctor support with a Registrar and RMO with the Registrar position being accredited for advanced training with RACP. The Rehabilitation Specialist is based at the CH and provides clinical and medical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team delivering inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation services to the community. The position will also play a key representative role in the development of Tasmania-wide rehabilitation and related services. The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program.
