Emergency Medicine

Position Profile: An exciting opportunity is available for a Specialist/Consultant – Emergency Medicine. In this role you will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive clinical service in Emergency Medicine to patients of the Health Service and the leadership of the multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive emergency services to patients of the Health Campus. You will promote patient quality and safety within the emergency department, provide leadership, management, training, supervision and education for Senior Medical Practitioners, Intern, Resident Medical Officers and Registrars in collaboration with the Regional Director of Medical Services. Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency medicine or equivalent (see equivalent qualifications & training below) and possess substantial postgraduate medical experience in emergency medicine and hospital practice. Have demonstrated commitment to effective management of clinical risk and improving quality. You should also have developed high level of communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively, lead in a team environment and show commitment to continuing education. Equivalent Qualifications List: • General Medical Council (United Kingdom) FRCEM qualification highly regarded • Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) • Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates of the United States (USMLE) • Medical Council of New Zealand (NZREX) • Medical Council of Ireland (graduates of medical courses in Ireland accredited by the Medical Council of Ireland). • National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (COMLEX-USA)
