The Bay is home to one of the fastest growing populations in New Zealand and our health service is continuing to innovate and integrate to ensure that we deliver high quality and responsive specialist services to older people living across the district.We are recruiting to build on the existing team of specialist medical and nursing staff working across both community and secondary care services. Opportunities within the service include the ability to develop your specialist interest in areas such as Emergency/Acute care of older people, Parkinsons Disease or to work alongside other specialist teams such as cardiology and general surgical services to ensure that the needs of older people are identified and planned for in care delivery decisions. We would also consider applications from a clinician with a strong background in rehabilitation medicine. This is a permanent position so there is the opportunity to be involved in an exciting team and clinical environment and take your career forward whilst also being able to balance this with other life interests. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and education skills with respect to patients, whānau (family) and the community, is keen to strengthen and empower primary and secondary multi-disciplinary services and be enthusiastic around the opportunity to contribute to improving older persons health outcomes. This role will work across both hospital sites and participate in delivery of both planned (elective) and unplanned (acute) care in both older persons health and as part of the general medical service. In addition, we seek an individual who has the skills to foster a learning culture given the commitment we have to advanced trainee programe.
