Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist

The Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist primarily provides psychiatric assessment and management to patients presenting at the public Hospital as well as consultation to other specialist teams. Here is your opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team contributing to an integrated model of service delivery in both outpatient and inpatient settings whilst working in partnership with other health; social and community sectors.The service provides a specialist clinical mental health and addiction service to the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of around 164000.These services are designed to cater for people with significant mental illness and/or addiction that is beyond the scope of primary care services. The DHB is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.
