Position description

Public hospital Close to Brisbane Our Child and Youth Mental Health Service is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatrist to deliver quality, specialist care to our clients. We are seeking a Psychiatrist who will provide a high standard of care towards children, youth and their families and ensure their needs are at the centre of all their decisions. A demonstrated history of clinical excellence, quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance is essential, as is an empathetic kind and supportive approach to youth care.The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) encompass four community CYMHS teams, an 8-bed adolescent Inpatient unit and Day Program, Evolve Therapeutic Services, an Assertive Mobile Youth Outreach service and an Infant Mental Health service. The current consultant establishment is 4.0 FTE and they work with allied health clinicians and clinical nursing staff who are distributed through the service and the region. There are 3 RANZCP accredited registrar positions and registrars support the community teams and inpatient unit. You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $430,587 (L27) comprising base salary, motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., locality allowance, professional indemnity cover and private practice arrangements. Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value. The Health service region is a large geographic area covering approximately 90,000 square kilometres. We are one of the largest employers in the region, with a diverse team of more than 5,500 staff. We deliver front line health services across our 29 facilities and treat more than 85,000 admissions to hospital, see greater than 158,000 people through our Emergency Departments, support the birth of almost 3,000 babies and perform more than 19,000 breast screens.
